Well, since I love Pomeranians, Daimyo, and I've even got a AQ suggestion about the cute guy, I thought "hey, why don't I come up with... His Origin (Not real Daimyo, Game Daimyo, but I still love that guy even in the real world") Also, be noted that this story has a Samurai Jack Reference in it too. (Cookies to whoever can find it!)
Daimyo - Origins
Prologue
Many years ago, hundreds of years before the town of Battleon was erected from Adventurers abroad, there lied a great civilization far in the eastern lands. A civilization that had yet to know the knowledge of evil, was prospering under the Shoguns and Emperor who knew nothing except for civic duties and the blessings of the Gods for their kindness and selfless service. But little did this kingdom know, that someday, the peaceful times would dishearteningly vanish from their lives....
Since time has past, only a few still recollect its name, culture, or anything more specific than vague details of differently interpreted versions of this great civilization. But today, the story of this lost civilization, as well as the story a brave young hero, Deto, who saved his lands, but at a most grave cost, will finally be discovered. Now, Prepare yourself for a most epic tale of Daimyo, and his story that explains how he became what he is today.
Part I - The Beginning of the End? (In Media Res)
There he was. On the ground. His face, looking hopelessly into the sky, covered in blood, open flesh wounds, his armor pierced all over, and damages of all sorts all over his body. As Deto looked into the sky with his heavily damaged body, his vision began to blur from the huge amounts of blood seeping away from his body. As his life force drained away, he began to realize that his life would end. He said to his seemingly dying self, "Is... is this the end?! Is this truly... my end?" But to be truthful, Deto's journey to defeat a most dreaded evil didn't start like this. No, rather this is how it seemed to begin to you, the reader. Now, back to the story.
As Deto was lying on the earth, he was dying away with each passing second. In order to mitigate the pain, he tried to look back to a time of peace, a time of joy, a time of happiness, a time of dreams, a time... before evil existed on Lore. Now, we will see the beginning of Deto's Journey, or as we might say, now his
Memories of a more Peaceful Time.
Part II - Memories of a more Peaceful Time
As Deto's life drained away fast, he looked back to the times when things were generally on the epitome of success. Things were not always filled with evil back before this whole journey to defeat this evil. No, back then, the peaceful days moved slowly, the children played and splashed in the mud, and the Samurai were always preparing themselves for their friendly non-violent duel, for when they were not on active duty to protect, serve their lands and helping their people, they were training hard and regularly fought in non-aggressive duels. The best of these Samurai, Deto, was said to have the best skill with the Katana, the traditional weapon of Samurai who served the emperor of his land. It was said he was the best samurai alive, able to fight up to 50 other samurai at once and defeat them all without being touched. It may seem that Deto was always a samurai, but that is not true. He had to work his way up the Social Food Chain from a low-class peasant who spent his days grinding grain for the land, to a Samurai of true stature, power, and perhaps most importantly, respect. Truly, he worked hard to work his way up, and when he finally reached his dream of becoming a samurai, his life became happier, as did the people.
The working-class people sang and danced of the emperor's generous and prosperous rule, and the old people grinned their faces off as they lived out the rest of their merry golden years with their loved ones in glamorous prosperity. The only exception to this, was an old cranky lady that to everyone, told blasphemous what-not of the subsequent future, who which everybody ignored for the most part. Truly, as said many times before, things just couldn't get any better for the people. But, one day, that would all change.
Part III - A Dark Evil Arises
Meanwhile, in deep outer space, Lorithia, and The Galin' were chasing a Terrible Evil across the plain of the universe so vile, it was not of this very plain of existence. It came from a dimension so sick, so defiled, and so twisted, that the simple thought of the this dimension from would bring dread upon the unfortunate person who dared to make the simple thought of it. Then, The Galin' having to have caught up to the Evil, unleashed a powerful beam of Uncreating powers, inflicting great pain unto "it". The Evil then relented on Lorithia and The Galin' with great audacity. But, The Evil was no match for the powerful duo, and so, was nearly purged from existence. But, to the faults of Lorithia and The Galin', they accidentally missed a spot of the Evil being, letting a small, but still quite malevolent fraction of the crash down to the Planet of Lore with the same force of a asteroid. Even thought both Lorithia AND The Galin' had the power to stop this last fraction of unworldly evil, they had used up too much of their powers to fully finish of the evil deity of completely.
Moments later, back somewhere in the Universe of Lore, they rested. Suddenly, they got a signal from one of their followers, notifying the duo that the evil they had just defeated was still out there. Realizing there mistake, the duo then summoned the Elemental Lords to Mount Isek, the tallest mountain on lore. From there, they were to discuss how this last piece of evil was to be defeated.
Part IV - The Council
On mount Isek, the gods discussed how they were to deal with this evil. Lorithia, and The Galin' all put their thoughts of how to defeat this evil. Even though The Galin' could have easily have uncreated this force, he decided it was best to test the strength of Human will against evil. The Galin uttered, "Humans on the planet Lore have not conquered an evil for over 1000 years. They have already conquered evil in all forms. They have no challenges to take. Even though they do not grow lazy, the human spirit eventually desires for a challenge, "something new" as those Lorians would say. The best plan of action would be to divert this fragment of boundless evil to Lore, so Lorians once again will unite and conquer evil." Lorithia and the Elemental Lords both agreed. For if the gods and Elemental Lords intervened with the lives of Lore too much, then there would be no point of life, as life on Lore would grow completely monotonous with prosperity. If the gods made everything too peaceful, then, life on lore would do nothing to make their lives better, so instead of the gods usually repelling the evil away from Lore as have they always done, they decided to make life on Lore try to unite against the evil. But life cannot unite if life has no leader. So, the gods thought long and hard. After looking through Lore for Lore's best warrior, the Gods and the Elemental Lords judged Deto, a Samurai from the far East, to lead the people against this evil. It was finally decided - The task of defeating the final remnant of this Evil, was now the destiny of a young warrior from the planet Lore.
Part VI - A Dreadful Foretelling
The very next day, back on Lore, Deto, a young and warmhearted Samurai who had recently been appointed to Daimyo, or feudal lord, by royal audience of the Emperor, was strolling around the Marketplace. He hummed some songs, bought some food, and was on his merry way. Little did he know, this was the day his life would change. As he left the marketplace, an old, haggard woman of short stature and a staff taller than herself approached Deto with a hard, hacking cough. One of Detou's friends, caught eye of this old haggard woman. Deto's friend said," Hey Deto, look! It's that old woman who yaps nothing but bogus! Pay no attention to the haggard woman, for if you associate with that old hermit... The people in our village say that if you do, silly things will happen." The Old, haggard woman caught her ears to Deto's friend, and then whacked Deto's friend with her cane so much and so hard, that Deto's friend fainted from the pain.
After the beating, she said to Deto, "You, come here! I am a prophet, with your fortune of the future!" Deto really didn't believe in fortunes, nor the conspicuously odd people who told them, but this woman looked quite intimidating, so he did as she told. The old woman coughed a bit, and started for her tent, and then said "Please, come in, for your fortune will interest you quite the bit." Deto did as she told, and then as he cam inside, Deto explained "Please, I must make haste to my village so I may meet someone important. Please let me go."She said, "Please wait, this is important! You will not live for long if you do not listen to this!" Deto then left for the door and explained "I am sorry but I am now leaving. Perhaps another time will suit me." As he left the tent, the woman made her fortune, "Young Daimyo, a horrible time is in sight, evil will fill this land, and all will be doomed for an eternity! You must go to Mount Isek, to the Temple of Light to gain the power to defeat this ominous evil. Only you can save our land from this evil." Deto then turned around yelled "Enough! Fortunes are all just.....". But he stopped in the middle of his sentence, surprised that the old woman was nowhere to be found.....
Part VII - Uncovering a Realization
When Deto returned to his village, he was shocked. The village was in flames. Luckily for him, the people, as well as his army personnel of the village had all evacuated. Deto then asked, "How could this have happen?". His wife had come from the crowd of evacuated village now leveled to the ground. She said,"A great power that we do not know of has destroyed our village, but luckily, nobody was hurt. But, we have lost every procession that we held dear to us." Deto then remembered the old woman's fortune. He rushed to the marketplace, telling his village, "I will return quickly! There is something I must do..."
When Deto returned to the marketplace, he tried to find this old woman again. When he found her tent, she was still not there. He rushed about the village frantically, trying to locate her. Then, miraculously, when he bumped into a very short person, he said, "Pardon me for my rudeness, but I must find someone important!" The short person turned around then said in a low, but cogent voice, "You are looking for me aren't you? Do you believe in fortunes now?". Deto then shouted angrily, "This isn't the time! I need you to look at my fortune again. My village has been burned down by an unknown source, and so far, what you have said has turned out to be true! What must I do to confront this power, and purge it so it will never bother us again?". "Well", said the old woman, "Come to my tent again, and I'll see what I can do for you...." So then Deto followed suit, ready to hear his "fortune" in order to prepare for future disaster.
Part VIII - The Prophet's Advice
The old woman went to her tent, and explained," I am a prophet, and I will tell you of your future!" And then told Deto to come in. She then polished her Crystal Ball, and looked into it. "You who seeks the answer and oracle of the future will find much despair. An evil will tighten its grasp upon the land, and many will suffer. But, from the chaos and corruption will arise a hero. " Deto, who was a bit confused, then asked, "What is "evil? I have never heard of such word. But it does not sound good. Please, tell me what it means!" The old woman hacked her cough, and then explained, "Since the beginning of time, two forces have been in locked in eternal combat. One force, Evil, tries to bring nothing but dread and misfortune, but the other force, Good and Righteousness, is the side that wishes to bring the opposing force down to herald an age of perfection and optimal enlightenment. You see, this civilization fights for good. It is the one we fight for. For if evil wins, there is truly no hope."
Deto then thanked the old lady, then asked, "What must I do to defeat this "Evil"?" The old woman hacked, "You and your army must go to the Temple of Light, upon the highest peak of Mount Isek. From there, you will find how to defeat this evil." Deto then thanked the old woman, and then said, "I will take the journey, and lead a campaign to defeat this Terrible Evil!" And so, Deto left the tent and prepared to trek to the Temple, but little did he know, Evil was already afoot, manifesting its earthly form, and already unleashing its horrible plan to doom us all.
Part IX - What Became of The Village
Deto returned to his village once more. This time, what he found of the village, was unbelievably frightening. A dark, dusty, and burnt smoke filled the already decimated village. The whole village was incinerated to a dark black, as well as everything and everyone had mysteriously disappeared, or so it seemed. As Deto walked down his incinerated village, he found many bones and charred remains of the people who lost their lives at the hand of this new and imminent threat. Out of nowhere, spontaneously from the ground, his own loyal Samurai manifested into a terrible, and corrupted forms of their normal selves. Quickly, without a thought, Deto unsheathed his Katana, and began to defend himself. He then asked,
"Why are you attacking me? I am your friend, as well as your leader! I demand an explanation!" The corrupted samurai did not answer. Deto then looked into his men's eye. Something was not right, instead of seeing the normal iris of the human eye, all that remained was a black void of nothingness. Also, their body forms were demented, and then Deto came to the realization that a force must be controlling his own men. The corrupted samurai then spoke raspingly,
"Join us.... The Queen will rule all! There is no escape." This phrase scared him. He realized these were no longer his men, but a twisted form that no longer pledged allegiance to him. Then, after Deto made quick work of his loyal men who betrayed them, who then evaporated into the thin air. Deto then cried,
"They... they are gone forever!" While crying, Deto then found an even more daunting discovery. He saw a wooden board tremble from the ruins of an incinerated house, surviving the village's terrible fate via an underground shelter. An unknown person peered ever so slightly to avoid detection. When the eyes from the unknown person stared at Deto, the person came out of the basement. From the basement, came out his family, close friends, as well as a few men who had hidden with the family while the others lost their lives to the unknown disaster that struck the village. Deto was then greeted by warm hugs of his closest people that he held affectionately. Deto then after being hugged, asked his men a status report, as well as what had happened while he was gone. What Deto heard, cringed him in fear.....
Part X - What Happened While Deto was Gone
The men reported what had happened to the rest of his guard: In a fierce fight to defend our village, we were suddenly attacked by a mysterious power. It had manifested itself into a humanoid form, and changed the hearts of our fellow brothers, forcing us to fight one another. Although we fought bravely, It did not take long before we realized the battle was lost. Knowing this, my squad and I hid in a basement in your house, hoping to arise from the haven once the battle had subsided. Several men tried to confront this evil, demanding to identify itself. The response was, "I... am.... THE EVIL!" The men didn't know what evil was, but they did not like this phrase, so they attacked this being. We also found out that this being, turned out to be a woman, using her evil charms and magic to woe our men to her side, and do her evil bidding. Eventually, the very few who managed to escape, also hid in the basement as well, also bringing your family to safety. In the end, only 15 of our 2,000 men survived. The losses were devastating. "That will do enough of a status report", said Deto. "So, what we are facing is an power, known as "Evil". It must not be taken lightly. Since you have all first-handedly experienced this evil yourselves, as well as nearly 100% of my former men being gone, you are all promoted to Marshals. For the time being, I can not provide you the services available to one, but your experience warrants your sudden promotions. All of you, along with my family, I know where we can take haven. We are heading East, to the Drakel city of K'eld Ner. There, we will find the answer to everything."[/i] And so, Deto, his remaining 15 Generals, and his own family, headed South-East, to the city of K'eld Ner.
Part XI - K'eld Ner
Deto, his family, and his remaining soldiers headed out to the one place they knew they could gain more knowledge of what they were to face. K'eld Ner. Next to his own kingdom, this drakel city was easily equal to Deto's Kingdom when it came to knowledge of the world and beyond. Even though K'eld Ner was always famous for not letting humans in quite easily, Deto was MORE than capable to fight his way in. And so, they rode to there destination, they saw a clear view of K'eld Ner's noticeable city Dome. Deto then took a deep breath, preparing himself for the eminent action that was to happen. He then told his men, "Men, please protect my family while I head into the city". As ordered, his men followed the order. Deto then proceeded on, while is men and family waited just beyond the city limits.
Moments later, Deto was in the city. He was quite surprised really, as the drakels did not even attempt to attack Deto, a human. Deto then asked a drakel, "Excuse me fine sir, do you know where I can find a library?" The Deto had never seen a human in his life, so he helpfully told Deto the way to the library, although the drakel gave him a suspicious look. So, following the instructions the drakel provided him, Deto first came back to where his family and soldiers were waiting. He then told them, " I think I have found the answer to our problems! Follow me!" His men and Deto's own family then followed Deto to the library. From here, they would find better knowledge of how to combat there problems that were to occur.
Part XII - Interception
While Deto and his party headed to the library, the drakel that helped him earlier had notified the authorities (AKA, the city police) of "weird looking creatures" in the city. Never seeing humans before, he described them as "Figures equivalent to our height, although their skin was quite smooth, as well as their skin containing hairs in place of scales." The police then stocked up and lined up in front of the library. As the police waited for a bit, Deto was ten in sight of the police. The Police then said, "Halt! You shall not proceed, Human!" The citizens had never seen seen humans, nor did they know what humans were, so this grabbed the attention of the public. Deto then tried to explain that they arrive in good intent. I didn't work. The police then sprayed sleep gas at Deto and Party. Soon, Deto, and his party were all asleep, arrested, and then thrown in the City prison, soon to be interrogated. Things just couldn't get worse.
In the prison, Deto waked up to the warden yelling loudly at the Deto's to wake up. The Guards then hustled Deto into the interrogation room. In the room, the police chief was anxiously waiting for Deto. When he did, The chief gave a cold stare at Deto. Deto was not scared by the chief. The chief then screamed out, "Who are you? Why are you here in our city? Is your intent good or evil?" Deto then replied, "I am Deto, a warrior from the far North-west. I came here in search of knowledge. I know your city is full of it. I only come here to study more of what evil is. I do not know much about evil, expect the fact that it has destroyed my home, and my family heirlooms. The Chief was shocked when he heard this reply. He thought Deto was drunk from Sleeping gas, and then punched and kicked him as hard as he could. Deto then asked, "Why did you do that?" The chief didn't answer.
